Holy shit. THIS. BOOK. I literally had to remind myself to breathe while reading… the anxiety and stress as I flipped through each page. The adrenaline rush was insane.

It’s like watching Olympic swimming, and the swimmers have 50M left in the race. They flipturn at the wall and are within a hundredth of a second from each other. They are stroke for stroke, battling the entire last lap, zeroing in on the final five meters. You’re screaming, the person you’re watching the race with is screaming. Both swimmers’ hands are about to slam against the wall, and you freeze, not wanting to blink and miss the finish.

Or, it’s like watching the national championship game of March Madness, and there are 2 seconds left on the clock, the score is tied, the teams have been battling back and forth the entire game, and your team has the ball and the chance to score… and possibly win.

Now, just imagine that feeling… THE ENTIRE BOOK, where you’re holding your breath nearly every chapter, wondering what will happen next. I literally had to put my hand on top of the next page to cover the text so that I wouldn’t sneak a peek. I was left nearly speechless as I closed the book after reading the last page.

A deep dive into the world of competitive figure skating. The intensity of rivalries. Romance. Deception. Forgiveness. Back-stabbing friendships. High stakes competitions. Resilience. Heartbreak. And just so much more.

This book is by far my #1 read of the year. And since I’ve only read 4 books this year, that really doesn’t justify the amazeness of this book, so I’ll say it’s my #1 read in the past two years. Even if you’re not a huge sports fan — this book will still blow you away. 5/5 – highly recommend.
