My Anticipated Fall Reads

I’m still holding onto these last few weeks of summer, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I’m looking forward to fall reading — especially with these books coming out this September, October & November. Which one are you looking forward to?

Grim Tidings by B.K. Borison

Contemporary romance author B.K. Borison goes from cozy to metaphysical in this latest love story concerning a reluctant Grim Reaper and her new assignment. Peculiar Stars by Rebecca Yarros

I haven’t read any of Rebecca Yarros’s non-fantasy novels, so I’m starting with this one. I’ve had The Last Letter on my TBR for quite some time, but have been scared to pick it up since so many friends have said it’s a very emotional read. November 17

The Witches of Cambridge by Alice Hoffman

Alice Hoffman, author of the beloved Practical Magic series, is back with more witchy goodness. Her new book begins in 1950s Cambridge, Massachusetts, where incoming Radcliffe students Ava and Lauren have just arrived on campus. Soon, the two are being recruited by the Lilith Society, a secret coven of powerful witches. Early reader reviews are pretty giddy about Hoffman’s blend of fantasy, intrigue, and McCarthy-era historical fiction. September 8

Tempest by Victoria Aveyard

Since I religiously listen to the PlotTwist podcast, co-hosted by authors Victoria Aveyard and Soman Chainani, I’ve heard all year about the making of this book. Years ago, I read Victoria’s YA series, The Red Queen, and this is her first foray into the adult romantasy space. September 8

Bad Words by Ríoghnach Robinson

Parker Navarro’s debut novel was meant to define his career — until critic Selina Chan’s blistering review made it the flop of the decade. Four years later, his new book is his shot at redemption; for Selina, reviewing him again is a professional risk she can’t refuse. When her second takedown ignites a viral feud, both their fortunes shift overnight. But as the literary world feeds on their public sparring, a quieter dialogue begins — one that challenges everything they thought they knew about success, sincerity, and each other. October 6
